Call for abstracts!

You are formally invited to take part in the inaugural Political Science Undergraduate Research Colloquium, hosted by the Association of Political Science Students with support from the Department of Political Science. The purpose of this conference is to provide a space for undergraduate political science students with an opportunity to present their papers in front of a panel of academics in a professional setting while receiving constructive feedback on their work. This is a valuable opportunity for students who are planning to pursue their studies on a graduate level in the future. Students will be asked to give a 10 minute presentation on their paper, which will be followed with a 10 minute discussion by the panel, and a critique by student discussants.

Students in any year of study at the University of Toronto (St. George, Scarborough, or Mississauga Campus) are invited to submit a 250 word abstract on the topic of their presentation, and to fill out a general application form. All abstracts should be accompanied with the full text essay which has been submitted. If the essay was submitted for a class, it should have received a grade of "B+" or higher. Please indicate the course code, year it was written, and the professor it was written for in your document. Successful papers may also receive the opportunity to be published in Polis, the Undergraduate Journal of Political Science. The deadline for this application is on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:59PM. Please submit all full text essays to website@utapss.ca in both .docx and .pdf files. “Pages” file formats will not be accepted.

The panelists for the conference will be announced soon. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to reviewing your applications!
